So the New Year is here and when it will continue like 2009 it will be a great year again in all ways. Happy new year and before it will be forgotten some leftovers from 2009 needs to be handled, starting with the release below. This album is only available through the band and their label, but really worth your attention.

The Jilemnice Occultists finally have returned with their fourth ritual to show the whole world, that although the members have become older, wiser and grey haired, still pure occult metal is ageless and can be hammered down by only the master’s. Through the years the band Master’s Hammer has grown from a small unknown Czech black metal band to a very known and selective band in the underground scene. Their first two albums “Ritual” and “The Jilemnice Occultist” have become classics through the years in the black metal scene and showed the unique individual talent of these masters to create outstanding occult metal.

After releasing a third album in 1995 with only two of the original members and which didn’t got that much attention in the underground scene, but still displayed their ability to create weird strange atmospheres within the limited boundaries of (black) metal music, the band was put on ice…

Now after more than 27 years of existence and non-existence the Masters have returned with their new album “Mantras”. This CD is released as digi-pack version and vinyl only and displays the weirdest, strangest and purest creativeness of occult black metal. Totally sung in the Czech language Master’s Hammer have come up with an impressive and very experimental album. Lyrics in Czech and the weird keyboards and organs give the complete album an electronic touch with bizarre drums and guitar ideas all leading to songs and occult metal, which can’t be described with a review. You have to undergo this with your own ears, before you start to believe… “Mantras” needs your time and occupation before it gives away its brilliance and excellence. At first listening the occult metal sounds too mediocre and like said before electronic wise, but after slipping through the frozen scale you fall down in the cold, but fluid water depth of this insane and mind-blowing album. Take your time in the cold waters and learn to swim with it…

Don’t expect a repeating of the first two albums, which are so compelling by their morbid and bizarre beauty. This album is a combination of those albums and partly of ideas from the third “Šlágry” album and has interfaces with Necrocock’s own personal band “Kaviar Kavalier”; a more electronic and tripping musical side project. Black and thrash metal attacks are fired upon the listener through organ and keyboard painted structures, gothic vocals, strange tumbling riffs and grooves all demanding your full attention, but you will be rewarded to have experienced some of the weirdest and obscure pure occult avant-garde metal.
