SILENT RAGE is a melodic power metal band formed back in 2006 somewhere in Korydallos city, Greece, by the guitarist and vocalist Nikos Siglidis and drummer Vassilis Chamos. The band went through a lot of line-up changes althrough the last years with the final five piece act of 2011 hitting the studio and recording two new songs and re-arranging three older ones which were included in the band’s past releases ; meaning one demo entitled “Perished in flames” and a homonymous EP.

The five tracks of “Harvester of souls” present a power metal done in the U.S style far from the European “mushy” sometimes power metal. The great combination of melodic vocals with the “harsh” growling provides a sharp attitude and gives a much heavier and darker atmosphere to the whole musical style. A typical example of the sharpness and speed is the intro track “Perished in flames”, whose dynamics in synthesis and performance grubs you by the balls and force you to concentrate more to the following tracks. The arrangements are well balanced although the album and the guitar sections are the hidden card of the specific release. The production is very nice considering the fact that this is a self-financed release.

The band at the time is working on some new material for the forthcoming album under the title “Inner Scars”. After having shared the stage with Rage, Grave Digger and Shadow Gallery SILENT RAGE move towards to success and surely signing a contract with a big label would uplift this decent and interesting musical effort.
